What to Wear 30A: Spring Series (Part 1)
Updated: Mar 12
It's been a year, a YEAR, since the Covid pandemic rocked our worlds and most of us were sent home from work. In that year, many people haven't had a legit vacation and we are losing our minds! For those who are 1000% ready to bust out of their prison cell, errr homes, quite a few will head straight to the coast. Well, come on, we have been waiting for you!
But, with vacation packing can come some severe packing anxiety. Do you feel lost when you have to select clothing for the beach? Is it casual or elevated casual? What about a fancy dinner? Are we working out/exercising/dancing in the kitchen? What do you pack for that and will the weather be hot yet? I get it. So many questions and likely so little time to direct your efforts to strategizing packing your suitcase.
If you are coming to the gorgeous beaches of 30A Florida, I have selected a few popular places that vacationers like to patron and what you could wear to each. This is part one of the spring series. Even if you are not coming to 30A, but you have beach plans, this could still be every relevant. And, if you are still holding it down and find yourself landlocked for the time being, you may just need to treat yourself to a new piece of clothing and daydream on your couch next to a warm fireplace. Close enough?
What to Wear to Neat Bottle Shop for cocktails
I chose an easy, ribbed midi dress in a neutral color. I love a basic piece because it's simple to dress it up or down and provides a solid base for layers and accessories. I added an orange oversized cardigan since it can get cooler here in the spring when the sun goes down. I don't recommend the full summer uniform yet. Spice this look up with your accessories -- a straw bag, layered gold necklaces and heeled or flat sandals. All items shown below are linked here.
I truly believe Neat has some of the best cocktails in the area. They are also totally Instagram worthy and who doesn't love a cocktail set on portrait mode? Be sure to grab a table outside to soak up the enchanting ambiance of Alys Beach.
What to Wear to George's for dinner
Spring is the perfect season at the beach to wear a jumpsuit. If the thought of wearing anything on your legs once the temps peak over 90 then this is your chance because the summertime is out of the question. I like this as a different option than classic white jeans or a sundress. For those of you who are on the petite side and/or have a short waist, it may be challenging to find a jumpsuit that has a waistline short enough for your frame. In that situation, I would opt for a matching two-piece set in the same color or pattern. Then you can wear the pants at your natural waistline and tuck in the top. The look will be very similar. I have linked a couple jumpsuits and matching sets here.
If you haven't been to George's before, you should check it out. My husband and I went there together when we were first dating about 9 years ago which is a forever memory. It doesn't disappoint. They also have a newly renovated outdoor space and a lovely top deck to grab (another) drink and catch the sunset before dinner.
